Ehécatl is the Aztec deity and sacred force of the wind, whose name in Nahuatl means ‘wind.’ He represents movement, breath, and the life-giving rains, and is often depicted wearing a duck-beaked mask as an aspect of Quetzalcóatl. In the cosmology of the Fifth Sun, Ehécatl played a role in setting the sun into motion and bringing the rains necessary for life. His temples were built in circular form so the wind could move freely around them. As a powerful sacred force, Ehécatl symbolizes the breath of life, fertility, and the unseen energies that set the cosmos in motion, making him essential to agriculture, balance, and survival. He is understood as a manifestation of the great Feathered Serpent, Quetzalcóatl, often known as Quetzalcóatl-Ehécatl, representing the creative and dynamic forces through which movement and life are set into motion.
Our Values: We ask that the ego bow gently before the wisdom of spirit, so that each of us may become a hollow bone—an open vessel through which healing can move where it is needed. The healer isn’t the source of the healing. The clearer the vessel, the easier the medicine can move through. To become a hollow bone is to empty ourselves of what stands in the way—to set aside our personal agendas, expectations, and assumptions so that the work can move through us clearly. In doing so, we make space for the wisdom of spirit and the healing forces around us to guide the process without the interference of our own projections.
This work is a weaving of what has been carried through our family lineages and what has been shared with us by the many elders, teachers, and guides who have offered their wisdom along the way. In honoring both ancestry and lived experience, we help keep these traditions alive, allowing them to continue breathing and evolving through the generations.
These teachings remind us that this path is not about personal power, but about walking in right relationship—with self, community, lineage, the land, and the living medicines that sustain us. Through reflection, service, humility, and growth, we strive to walk this path in a good way.
As we learn together. We remain humble students of the medicine, guided by our elders and by one another. In this way we honor the path of growth, remembering that wisdom is not inherited lightly—it is shaped through time, experience, and the lessons life places before us. The medicine teaches in its own rhythm, through the land, through the people, and through the quiet moments of reflection. With gratitude we walk in the footsteps of those who carried these ways before us, doing our best to learn well, practice with care, and carry the teachings forward in a good way.
As we serve together. We carry this work into the community with care, doing our best to walk in integrity, humility, and with our hearts leading the way. We understand that this work lives within relationship—between people, the land, and the wisdom that has been passed down through time. With that awareness, we move gently, honoring the trust of the community and the responsibility that comes with it.
As we respect and give back together. We honor the lineages, teachers, and medicines that sustain this work, giving back for what we receive and holding each teaching with deep care and responsibility. These teachings were not created overnight; they were shaped through generations of prayer, experience, and lived wisdom. We walk with gratitude for those who carried them before us and with commitment to protect, respect, and pass them forward in a good way
